چکیده

A s we discussed in the last issue (“Introducing Insecure IT”), software developers are begin ning to make some headway in reducing IT system vulnerabili ties. But just as there will never be impenetrable armor, there will never be invulnerable software. In the battle between attackers and defenders, developers still make mistakes, and adversaries invent new ways to defeat the best safe guards. Consequently, enterprises need an effective patch manage ment mechanism to survive the insecure IT environment. Effective patch management is a systematic and repeatable patch distribution process for closing IT system vul nerabilities in an enterprise. It in volves pervasive system updates, including any or all the following: drivers, operating systems, scripts, applications, or data files. Patches usually originate from, and are supported by, IT product vendors. These vendors often use differ ent terminologies for patches— for example, Microsoft has nine different types of patches (secuSurviving Insecure IT: Effective Patch Management

Correction: Rapid Diversity Loss of Competing Animal Species in Well-Connected Landscapes

Fig 5. The effect of fragmentation (scale) on the number of surviving species out of 21 under the reference conditions at five competitive settings (A-E).Different lines indicate the amount of surviving species out of 21 at different time intervals (t in years) since the start of the simulation. Bold lines indicate the diversity in the whole landscape and thin lines indicate the average patch d...

Development and Evaluation of a Real Time Site-Specific Inter-Row Weed Management System

ABSTRACT- A real-time, site-specific, machine-vision based, inter-row patch herbicide application system was developed and evaluated. The image resolution was 640 × 480 pixels covering a total area of 350 mm x 240 mm of a field composed of four quadrants of 350 mm x 60 mm each. The image frames were processed by LabView® and MatLab®. The developed algorithm, based on weed coverage ratio and seg...

1- INTRODUCTION Over the past few decades, the objective of the evaluation and monitoring of the optimal utilization of sustainable natural resource services and ecosystem performance has been the successor to the ecosystem structure. Tongway and Hindley introduced a Landscape Function Analysis (LFA) method in 2004 to evaluate the ecosystem Function. In the new method, soil is considered as th...

تأثیر اندازه و شکل لکه‌های درخت‌زار ‌بر غنا و تنوع گونه‌ای پرندگان در منطقه حفاظت شده کرکس

Determining landscape parameters influencing species richness of habitat patches is one of the most important issues in conservation biology. Many previous studies have investigated the influence of habitat parameters on bird assemblages in forest patches, but studies seeking effects of oasis parameters on bird assemblages are very scarce. Karkas Protected Area is located in semi-arid zone in...
